Interest on Lawyer Trust Accounts

  • Available to Wyoming citizens
  • Trust maintained by lawyers and law firms in Wyoming
  • Under the Wyoming Supreme Court Rules

Lawyers and law firms in Wyoming, under the Wyoming Supreme Court Rules of Professional Conduct 1.15, maintain pooled interest-bearing trust accounts (IOLTAs) for deposit of client’s funds which are held for either short periods of time or otherwise would earn insubstantial amounts for the clients.

Funds are awarded through a competitive grant process to qualified organizations that increase access to justice for Wyoming citizens who could not otherwise afford legal representation.
